I have just followed the bidding for the above mentioned lot on e-bay. It eventually sold for £970 plus shipping. I hope one of our fellow forummers managed to win this highly desirable pair.
George Bill was a Bridgnorth bloke living in the town at Railway Terrace I believe.
Apparently, according to Nev C's lists, this example of the Bridgnorth Tribute medal is previously unrecorded. Also of interest is that another volunteer with the surname Bill was awarded with the tribute medal. Perhaps related?
