This is an interesting one to a sought after unit - medals to Lumsden's Horse, a unit raised in India, are not often seen on the market. This one, to 200, Trooper Crosbie Charles Harvey, a man who was a Coffee Planter by profession, came my way courtesy of DNW's recent auction. This gentleman, rather enigmatically, was a commissioned Lieutenant in the Mid-Ulster Artillery at the same time. Researching him will prove challenging. He was also a member of the Peerage.
I have noticed that, according to the medal rolls, some LH chaps were awarded the Johannesburg clasp (possibly an earlier contingent?), whilst others got the 3 state clasps ala Harvey. Perhaps someone can shed some light on this aspect of the unit.
