Whilst tracing war record of my ancestor James holt 3004 I have found a copy of medal rolls for 1st battalion west riding issued on 1st April 1901 with an added word " forfeited " I understand this can mean a number of things .. Any ideas which way I should go to clarify exactly what happened?
